The GoPro HD HERO2 is specifically designed for shooting HD video and boasts Wi-Fi Remote compatibility and an easy-to-use LCD interface. Key features include:
- Variety of Shooting Modes. You can capture 1080p at 30 frames per second (fps), 960p at 48 or 30 fps, and 720p video at 30 or 60 fps, as well as 5, 8 or 11 megapixel digital still photos. Plus, plenty of optional accessories can be used with the camera for shooting in a variety of settings.
- Customizable Field of View. The operator may now choose between Full (170°), Medium (127°), and Narrow (90°). This would be similar to changing the focal length, except that it has no effect on the distortive qualities of the lens. The Hero 2’s almost fisheye wide angle lens will bend the image just as much at 90° as it will at 170°. It’s important to note that this field of view change is accomplished by simply cropping in on the sensor. So, while it will still produce a 1080p image, the image grain gets considerably more noticeable as the field of view gets narrower.
- Additional Features. The HD HERO2 features an integrated battery warmer for longer battery life in colder temperatures. Plus, the camera has LED lights viewable from any angle and can support shooting bursts of 10 photos per second. You can recharge the battery while you record via USB cable and enjoy time-lapse photography every 0.5, 1, 2, 5, 10, 30 or 60 seconds.
