Full Frame E-mount. As a part of the FE line of lenses, the FE 28-135mm f/4 is designed to cover the full-frame sensors on Sony a7-series cameras or Sony full-frame camcorders, such as the Sony PXW-FX9. Since it’s an E-mount lens, it’s also fully compatible with APS-C camcorders like the NEX-FS700R and PXW-FS7.

Power Zoom. The integrated power zoom control offers variable speed and the ability to reverse zoom rotation. A Super Sonic wave Motor (SSM) powers the zoom, providing fast, silent performance.

Optical Image Stabilization. The in-lens stabilizer provides up to four stops of correction so you don’t have to worry about camera shake.

Wide-to-Tele Zoom. Gives users a single-lens option that covers wide angle to telephoto focal lengths.

High-Quality Optics. Five aspherical elements and three ED elements are used to minimize distortion and chromatic aberrations. This advanced optical formula offers support for high-resolution image and 4K video capture.

Important Considerations: Sony advertises this lens as parfocal, but in our extensive testing we have not found it to be sufficiently parfocal to merit that label. If you use continuous autofocus, the servo zoom is slow enough to allow the focus to stay locked, giving the appearance of being parfocal. Using AF-S without pre-focus or using manual focus may have mixed results. This is not a malfunction of the lens, but rather a limitation of the design. Use at your own risk.
