While we no longer rent this used product, we do carry the Glidecam HD-PRO Handheld Stabilizer. You may also find alternatives in the Recommended section on the left-hand side of this page.
The used Glidecam HD4000 is a stabilizer system that captures smooth floating camera shots. We strongly recommend the newer, more fully featured Glidecam HD Pro, which we offer at a lower price. Key features include:
Newer Version Available. Looking for a more feature-rich option? We recommend the Glidecam HD-PRO Handheld Stabilizer, which is a newer version of this system at a lower cost.
Features. The handle is attached to a free-floating gimbal, and the counterweights keep the camera horizontal even with back-and-forth or up-and-down movements. Like the Pro, the HD 4000 can handle up to 10 lbs. of camera and equipment. The HD seems easier to set up and adjust, and has a slightly improved gimbal.
Forearm Support. We include the the Glidecam forearm support which spreads the weight of the glidecam and camera over the entire forearm, minimizing strain on the wrist. For long-term use or for use in more difficult conditions, we recommend the Glidecam X-10 Vest.
Capacity. The Glidecam 4000 can support cameras that weigh up to 10 pounds.
