The Sony PMW-100 XDCAM HD422 is a legacy, compact camcorder. For a more current model, we recommend the Sony PXW-X180. Key features include:
Broadcast-Quality Footage. The Sony PMW-100 XDCAM HD422 is a compact camcorder that offers broadcast-quality 50 Mbps MPEG-2 recording at 1920 × 1080. It’s capable of capturing files to either FAT- or UDF-formatted cards, which means you can easily integrate footage from the PMW-100 into any XDCAM workflow.
Excellent in Low Light. The camera comes equipped with a fixed 40-400mm 10x zoom lens and uses a single, sensitive 1920 × 1080 CMOS sensor (1/2.9-in. type), which works well in low-light situations. The infrared shooting mode and built-in infrared LED even allow for shooting in pitch-black environments.
Feature-Rich. A host of other features—such as fifteen-second cache recording, continuous recording, and selectable gamma curves—makes this camcorder a great option for any shooting situation.
