What’s Changed? Compared to its predecessor, the Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 X Power OIS sees a new Power OIS system that adds compatibility with Panasonic’s latest-gen cameras with 5-axis Dual IS / Dual IS II. Additional changes include an autofocus system update for faster performance, smoother automatic exposure changes via new iris, and cosmetic changes to the barrel.

Fast-Aperture Standard Zoom. With a focal length equivalent to 24-70mm after crop factor, the Panasonic Leica 12-35mm f/2.8 ASPH Vario-Elmarit Power OIS is great for reportage and everyday photography. Its bright f/2.8 maximum aperture lets you capture images in low light and with shallow depth of field.

Redesigned Optics. The 12-35 features a revised nine-group/fourteen-element optical design that incorporates four aspherical elements, one ultra extra-low dispersion element, and one ultra high-refractive index element to drastically reduce chromatic and spherical aberrations throughout the zoom range while keeping your images clear and sharp. A Nano Surface Coating reduces ghosting and flare, even when you’re shooting in bright light.

Linear Autofocus Motor. This lens’s linear motor provides fast, accurate, and nearly silent autofocus performance for still images and videos alike. You also get full-time manual-focus override for even greater precision, and an improved minimum focusing distance of 5.9 inches at focal lengths of 12-17mm and 9.8 inches at focal lengths of 18-35mm.

POWER Optical Image Stabilization. The in-lens stabilizer helps to minimize camera shake when shooting hand-held. Dual-IS compatibility with supported Panasonic cameras works in tandem with sensor stabilization to further eliminate camera shake.
