Blackmagic RAW, ProRes, & DNxHR Recording. The Blackmagic Design Video Assist 7" 12G-SDI/HDMI is a compact recorder that captures DCI and UHD 4K footage at frame rates up to 60p in ProRes and DNxHR formats. In addition, this recorder can capture Blackmagic RAW from compatible cameras.
7-Inch, 2500nits, TFT LCD Screen. This recorder has a very bright, daylight-viewable LCD panel with touchscreen controls. The 1920×1080, 427 ppi resolution provides super crisp images on the 7-inch display, and the 10-bit bit depth renders rich, accurate colors.
Professional Video Tools. The Video Assist includes professional video tools such as focus zoom, focus peaking, zebras, histogram, false color, scopes, frame markers, frame guides to help you nail your shot the first time.
Dual SD / External SSD Recording. This recorder accepts dual UHS-II SD cards (not included) for continuous recording of DCI or UHD 4K footage. Using a non-UHS-II SD card will limit recording to around HD levels. For Blackmagic RAW recording, we can only recommend Sony Tough SD cards or Samsung 1TB T5 portable SSD drives. Click here for a full list of recommended media.
AC Power w/ Optional Batteries. Power is provided by the included AC adapter, but the recorder can also be powered by Sony L-type NP-F-style batteries like the Hawk-Woods DV-F590 battery (not included). Sony L battery power kits are separately rentable for bulk power needs. The device will run for about 1 hour on dual DV-F590 batteries or two hours on dual DV-F790 batteries.
