18.1MP CMOS Sensor. The 1DX features Canon’s full-frame 18.1MP CMOS sensor, which creates perfectly detailed, high-resolution images with unprecedented speed and clarity. It provides an extremely accurate 61-point autofocus system with 6 autofocus-point selection methods. In addition, it boasts a 100-51,200 ISO range, allowing for outstanding low-light performance.
Dual DIGIC 5+ Image Processors. This camera uses Dual DIGIC 5+ image processors that deliver speeds of up to 12 fps (RAW + JPEG) and 14 fps (JPEG). The Dual DIGIC 5+ is approximately 17x faster than its predecessor, and features new algorithms that promote greater noise reduction at higher ISOs.
Full HD Video Capture. On the video side, the 1DX records 1080p at 24/25/30 fps, as well as 720p at 50/60 fps. It has in-camera audio-level adjustment, timecode embedding, expanded clip length of 30 minutes, and two compression methods (ALL-I and IPB) for optimum quality.
High-Quality LCD. The enlarged 3.2-inch, 1,040K-dot TFT LCD greatly improves image review and live-view recording, while the 100% viewfinder with overlay allows for highly customizable viewing. The 1DX has two CF slots, and while it comes with a higher-capacity LP-E4N battery, it’s still backwards-compatible with previous LP-E4 batteries.
