The Canon CN-E Compact-Servo 18-80mm T4.4 L IS EF is a compact cinema servo zoom lens for Canon branded EF-mount cameras. Key features include:
Cinema-grade optics
Servo control for zoom, focus, and iris
Optimized for Canon’s Cinema EOS Camcorder lineup
ZSG-C10 Zoom Grip Included
CN-E Build Quality. The 18-80 features cinema-grade optics that include parfocal design to maintain focus during zoom, minimized breathing, and color-matching accuracy to current CN-E lenses. A rounded 9-blade aperture makes for pleasing bokeh.
EF Convenience. The Compact Servo brings autofocus and image stabilization capabilities to a Canon Cinema lens. Optimized to work with the C100 Mark II EF, C300 Mark II EF, C200, and C700, taking full advantage of each of the camera’s dual-pixel autofocus technology.
Expanded Compatibility. Software v2.1.0 allows this lens to be used with the following cameras with some caveats:
EOS R
EOS RP
EOS Ra
EOS R5
EOS R6
The EOS R cameras require that this lens be used with an adapter like the EF-EOS R Mount Adapter, the Control Ring Mount Adapter EF-EOS R, or the Drop-In Filter Mount Adapter EF-EOS R. These are full frame cameras, so you’ll need to use a Super 35/APS-C/movie cropping mode to avoid vignetting. The C70 is a Super 35 camera, so no cropping is necessary when used with this lens.
Super 35 Sensor Coverage. The Canon 18-80mm T4.4 is designed specifically for image sensors measuring 26.2 × 13.8mm and smaller. That makes it perfect for Super-35mm/APS-C crop-sensor C-series cameras, offering a focal length roughly equivalent to 29-128mm.
Servos. The 18-80 offers servo control for zoom focus and iris, with power being supplied by compatible Canon EF cinema cameras.
ZSG-C10 Zoom Grip Included. This grip offers rocker control over zoom, as well as buttons for one-shot auto focus, and recording start-stop. It features a rosette adapter and interfaces with the Compact-Servo’s drive via a single cable, meaning it can be either mounted directly to the lens itself or used detached from the lens like in place of a handgrip in a shoulder mount configuration.
