The Canon EOS M50 Mark II Mirrorless is a versatile, feature-rich multimedia camera designed for vloggers and content creators. Key features include:
Feature set optimized for vloggers and content creators
24.1MP APS-C CMOS sensor; DIGIC 8 image processor
UHD 4K30p and Full HD 60p video capture
Dual-Pixel CMOS autofocus; five-axis image stabilization
24.1MP APS-C CMOS Sensor. The Canon EOS M50 Mark II Mirrorless’s 24.1MP APS-C CMOS sensor produces high-resolution still images, and high-quality UHD 4K30p, Full HD 60p, and HD 120p video. The DIGIC 8 image processor also offers improved low-light performance with a native ISO sensitivity of 100-25600, which can be extended to 100-51200. The processor also supports continuous shooting rates up to 10 fps.
Dual-Pixel CMOS Autofocus. Canon’s Dual-Pixel CMOS autofocus system provides extremely fast, accurate, and smooth performance in a fashion similar to how camcorders acquire focus, making it great for tracking moving subjects. Its Eye Detection AF mode prioritizes focus on your subject’s eye for maximum sharpness, which is handy for portraiture. On the video front, there’s also a Movie Servo AF mode, which offers smooth focusing when changing distance within a shot—essentially built-in rack focusing for video shooting. The Touch AF system lets you rack focus by simply touching elements on the touchscreen. You also have the option to set tracking sensitivity, AF speed, and face tracking priority.
Combination Image Stabilization. The combination image-stabilization system uses the camera’s built-in five-axis image stabilization in tandem with lens-based image-stabilization systems to minimize the appearance of camera shake when you’re shooting hand-held. When used with a lens that also features optical image stabilization for even more effective stabilization.
High-Res Electronic Viewfinder and LCD. The integrated 2.36m-dot OLED EVF gives you bright, eye-level monitoring and lets you work with Touch and Drag AF. The large 3.0-inch 1.04m-dot vari-angle touchscreen LCD monitor is great for shooting and image review. Its 180° upward and 45° downward tilting design makes it great for shooting from high and low angles.
Other Advanced Features. The M50 II offers built-in Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing you to livestream content straight from the camera. You can also use the EOS Webcam Utility software to make the M50 II function as a webcam. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity both let you control the camera and review images from a compatible iOS/Android device with Canon’s Camera Connect app. The camera records its RAW/JPEG images and video files to UHS-I SDHC/XC memory cards, and uses the Canon LP-E12 battery with a rated output of up to 305 shots per charge.
