The Canon PowerShot G9 X is a large-sensor compact camera that borrows features from Canon’s DSLR line. Key features include:
20.2MP 1" CMOS Sensor. The Powershot G9 X features the Canon HS System, which combines a large 1.0-inch sensor and powerful DIGIC 6 image processor. This system enhances low-light performance, reduces image noise, and pushes the top sensitivity level to ISO 12800. The G9 X also features impressive image capture speed, shooting at 6 fps in one-shot AF or 4.3 fps with continuous autofocus.
Versatile Focal Lengths. With 3x optical zoom lens equal to a 28-80mm equivalent focal length range, and featuring an f/2-4.9 maximum aperture, the G9 X covers the wide to telephoto/portrait range with a moderate aperture for shallow depth-of-field control. Additionally, the in-lens image stabilization combines with the fast aperture to ensure that low light won’t keep you from shooting.
Build and Control. Truly pocketable, the G9 X features a compact, metal build that’s appealing to both novice and advanced shooters. The large 3.0-inch LCD offers touchscreen function, the dedicated exposure-compensation dial allows quick adjustment even in Auto ISO, and the clicking lens-control ring is customizable for each shooting mode.
