The Canon PowerShot G9 X Mark II is a large-sensor compact camera with advanced imaging capabilities, and an upgrade to the original G9 X. Key features include:
What’s New. The Canon PowerShot G9 X Mark II’s notable improvements over its predecessor include an updated DIGIC 7 processor, a faster continuous-shooting rate, and remote control via Bluetooth.
20.2MP 1-Inch CMOS Sensor and DIGIC 7 Processor. The Canon PowerShot G9 X Mark II features the Canon HS System, which combines a large 1-inch sensor and powerful DIGIC 7 image processor. This system enhances low-light performance, reduces image noise, and pushes the top sensitivity level to ISO 12800. The G9 X II also features impressive image-capture speed, continuous shooting at 8.2 fps, and fast autofocus with subject tracking.
Versatile Focal Lengths. With a 3x optical zoom providing a 28-84mm equivalent focal-length range, and featuring an f/2-4.9 maximum aperture, the G9 X II covers the wide-to-telephoto/portrait range with a moderate aperture for shallow depth-of-field control. Additionally, the built-in image stabilization combines with the fast aperture to stabilize your hand-held footage and ensure that low light won’t keep you from shooting.
Build and Control. The G9 X II features a compact, metal build that’s truly pocketable. The large 3.0-inch LCD is great for live-view monitoring and playback, and its touchscreen functionality lets you navigate menus and adjust settings with ease.
Wireless Connectivity. The G9 X II’s built-in Wi-Fi and NFC capabilities let you wirelessly transfer your images to your linked mobile device. You can also use Bluetooth to remotely control the camera with your mobile device via the Canon Camera Connect app.
Additional Features. This camera includes a Time-Lapse Movie function that can automatically turn a series of stills into a seamless time-lapse video. An array of Picture-Style modes—such as Auto, Standard, Portrait, Neutral, Faithful, and Monochrome—lets you refine your images while you’re shooting. The in-camera RAW conversion feature gives you the option of applying Picture Styles and Auto Light Optimization to your RAW files and directly exporting them in JPEG format.
