The Canon XF205 is a compact, fully featured pro camcorder. It’s similar to the Canon XF200, but adds SDI and genlock. The XF405 is a more feature-rich version of this camera. Key features include:
1/2.84" 2.91MP Ful HD CMOS sensor
28.8-576mm F/1.8-2.8 20x optical zoom lens
4:2:2 or 4:2:0 MXF and MP4 dual codec recording
HD-SDI Out, close distance focusing across the zoom range, plus IP streaming support
CMOS Sensor. Like the Canon XF200, the XF 205 uses a single 2,044 × 1,160 1/3-inch CMOS sensor, and you can choose among 60i, 60p, 30p, and 24p settings to achieve just the look you want. The camera supports Full HD 1,920 × 1,080 resolution at up to 50 Mbps bit rate with 4:2:2 color sampling.
Compact Flash and SDXC Recording. This camera records MXF files to UDMA CF memory cards and has two hot-swappable card slots, allowing you to change cards without interrupting shooting. Furthermore, you can use SDXC cards to record MP4 files at the same time you record to CF media, for redundancy.
Canon 20x HD Zoom Lens. This camera has a zoom range of 26.8 to 576mm (variable aperture f/1.8 to 2.8).
Wi-Fi connectivity. The internal Wi-Fi support allows you to remotely control the camera and transfer footage.
HD-SDI Output and Genlock Input. The Canon XF-205 features industry-standard HD-SDI output, genlock input and timecode input/output terminals (BNC style), making it perfectly suited for multi-camera or 3-D productions.
