While this used DJI gimbal option is no longer available for rent, here’s a link to our current selections.
DJI brings their gimbal stabilization out of the skies and into your hands with the used DJI Osmo Handheld 4K Camera and 3-Axis Gimbal. Key features include:
4K Capture. The integrated Osmo X3 camera records in both Full DCI and UHD 4K resolutions at 24p and 25p (30p in UHD only). Don’t need 4K resolution? There’s also the option to record in Full HD at frame rates ranging from 24p-120p. The X3 can capture still photos at up to 12MP in either JPEG or DNG formats. Video and images are recorded to microSDHC/XC memory cards.
3-Axis Gimbal. The camera system utilizes three motors that stabilize the camera and move it manually in relation to the handle. Using the handle’s joystick or the DJI GO app, the camera can be panned over a 320° range, tilted down 35°, and tilted up 135°. It moves up to 120° per second.
Multiple Modes. You can use the gimbal in follow mode, fixed, inverted, flashlight, or selfie mode. Fixed mode keeps the camera locked in position, while in follow mode, the camera will drift along with your movements on the handle. Inverted mode allows for the camera to be underslung and used to grab low-angle shots. And then there’s selfie mode, which allows for you to turn the action on yourself.
Powerful Grip. The handle incorporates a joystick for panning and tilting the gimbal, a record start/stop button, a shutter button, and a trigger used to toggle among modes. The camera/gimbal assembly can detach from the handle for storage or use in other applications. The grip also houses the battery compartment, offering up to fifty minutes of continuous use with the included battery.
DJI GO App. The GO App for iOS offers you total control of the Osmo. The app allows remote operation of the gimbal as well as the ability to change camera settings, access advanced features, and view a live feed from the camera at a range of up to 85 feet. Customers have reported functionality issues with the DJI GO App. Performance and reliability can vary among different phone models. Since the app being the only way to control the device, we must stress that this is a use-at-your-own-risk situation.
Handheld Flexibility. Whether you need to record the passage of time or extend a moment, the Osmo makes it easy. Hyperlapse? Timelapse? Long-exposure still photos? The Osmo can handle them all, creating smooth videos and sharp images with or without a tripod.
