While we no longer rent this product, we do carry the Leica M10-P. You may also find alternatives in the Recommended section on the left-hand side of this page.
The Leica M-P is a high-quality digital rangefinder camera and a slight update to the Leica M Typ 240. Key features include:
What’s Different. The M-P largely offers many of the same features seen on the M240. The key additions are 2 GB of built-in RAM for increased operational speed (Leica claims this camera is twice as fast as the M240), a sapphire crystal glass cover for the rear LCD, and the removal of brand name and red dot from the front of the camera body.
24MP Leica MAX Full-Frame CMOS Sensor. This sensor provides extremely high image quality that takes advantage of the best of the Leica M-mount lenses. The combination of an CMOS image sensor and Maestro Image Processor provides greatly improved ISO performance over the previous generation’s CCD sensor. The M-P shoots up to 3 fps in continuous mode, with the 2 GB of built-in RAM enabling up to 24 frames before image capture slows.
Rangefinder, Electronic Viewfinder, and Live-View Shooting. The large, bright-line rangefinder-coupled viewfinder provides 0.68x-magnification with automatic parallax compensation and LED-illuminated frame lines. The large 3.0-inch 920k-dot rear LCD allows live-view shooting with focus peaking and 10x magnification. Additionally, the optional EVF2 Electronic Accessory Viewfinder (separate rental item) allows you to shoot in the traditional to-the-eye method while taking advantage of focus peaking and magnification.
Full HD 1080p Video. Like the M240, the M-P captures Full HD 1080p video at 24 and 25 fps. There’s a built-in monaural microphone for in-camera audio capture, and manual audio-level control during recording.
Classic Design. The magnesium-alloy chassis, brass top plate, and leather-wrapped grip gives the body a classic film-camera feel, while the inside is filled with the latest digital technology. It takes the rechargeable BP-SCL2 battery (1 included) and records images to SDHC/XC memory cards.
