The Leica SF 40 is a hybrid flash and continuous light source for Leica cameras. Key features include:
Guide number: 131’ at ISO 100 and 105mm
Zoom range: 24-105mm (16mm with panel)
90° tilt, 360° rotation
Continuous 5600K LED with 9 levels of intensity
Output and Operation. The Leica SF 40 Flash covers a 24-105mm (full-frame) zoom range, which you can expand to 16mm with the wide panel pullout. It has a flash output of GN:131’ @ ISO 100/105mm and GN:89’ @ ISO 100/35mm. Two rear dials make it easy to adjust power settings and quickly switch modes. Manual power control allows you to adjust from full 1/1 to 1/256 power, or to adjust exposure-compensation ranges from -2 to +2 EV in half-step increments.
Continuous LED Source. The Leica SF 40 features a built-in continuous 5600K LED light that has 9 levels of output intensity and is well-suited for video work. This dual-source feature makes your light source as versatile as your camera, allowing for mixed-media (stills and video) coverage for wedding, documentary, and photojournalism work.
Versatility. Bounce the light off walls, the ceiling, or any which way you want to angle it with the SF 40’s 90° of tilt and full 360° of rotation. An integrated autofocus-assist beam helps you nail sharp images quickly and accurately. This flash is powered via four AA batteries (not included), which will give you roughly 220 full-power flashes with a recycle time varying from 0.1-4 seconds based on power level.
