Classic-Style Portrait Lens. The Lensbaby Velvet 85mm’s lens design produces a soft, glowing effect at wide apertures with a smooth tonality similar to that of a classic 20th-century portrait lens. Its twelve-blade diaphragm produces pleasing bokeh, while the bright f/1.8 aperture gives you substantial control over depth of field and lets you shoot in low light. This lens was designed for FX-format Nikon F-mount DSLRs, but you can use it on DX-format cameras for a 127.5mm focal length.

Multi-Purpose Lens. In addition to its portrait qualities, the Velvet 85mm also features a 9.5-inch minimum focusing distance and a 1:2 maximum magnification for close-up shooting. At smaller apertures, this lens is capable of producing sharper images.

Fully Manual. This lens provides no electronic communication with the camera. It boasts a smooth manual-focusing movement augmented by engraved focus-distance indicators.
