Powerful Macro Prime. The OM SYSTEM 90mm f/3.5 ED Macro IS PRO offers up to 2:1 maximum magnification and an 8.8-inch minimum focusing distance, meaning that it can reproduce virtually microscopic subjects on a larger-than-life-size scale. This lets you highlight typically unseen details on small, intricate objects like flowers, insects, shells, water droplets, and coins. On a Micro 4/3 body, you’re getting the full-frame equivalent of a 180mm lens.
Advanced Optical Design. This lens’s complex thirteen-group/eighteen-element optical design includes a mix of Extra-Low Dispersion elements and High-Refractive Index elements, all of which work together to produce incredible sharpness, contrast, and color accuracy across the entire zoom range while reducing color fringing, spherical aberrations, and distortions. Each element has a Zuiko Extra-Low Reflection Optical (ZERO) coating to help reduce flare and promote optimal color transmission when you’re working in strong lighting conditions.
Movie and Still Compatible Autofocus System. The 90mm’s autofocus system and internal-focusing design offer fast, quiet, and precise focusing performance that’s great for still and video capture. It works in conjunction with Focus Stacking functions that automatically move the focus position between exposures. A floating focus design maintains sharpness throughout the focusing range, and you can use the MF clutch to quickly switch to manual-focus mode for more precision adjustments. The focus-limiter switch lets you constrain the available focusing range for faster performance, and an L-Fn button on the side of the lens lets you make adjustments without taking your eye away from the camera’s viewfinder.
High-Quality Build. Pro-grade means pro build, and that’s what you’re getting here. The dust-, freeze-, and splash-proof barrel keeps you shooting in conditions down to 14° F. A fluorine coating keeps dust, dirt, rain, snow, and other debris off the front element for easy cleaning.
Teleconverter Compatible. Need even more reach? The 90mm is compatible with the Olympus MC-14 1.4x Teleconverter and Olympus MC-20 2x Teleconverter, which will extend its maximum magnification to 2.8x and 4x, respectively. We strongly suggest that you use a tripod or monopod with these teleconverters if you want usable results.
