The Pentax 645Z Medium Format DSLR is a medium format crossover camera and update to the popular Pentax 645D. Key features include:
51.4MP CMOS sensor
Fast, accurate 27-point autofocus system
Full HD 1080 60i/30p/24p video capture
Durable, high-quality build
51.4MP CMOS Sensor. The 645Z features a 51.4MP medium-format (43.8 × 32.8mm) CMOS sensor. At its highest resolution of 8,256 × 6,192 pixels, you’ll see print sizes of 27.5” x 20.6” @ 300 dpi, making the 645Z ideal for large printing applications. Being a CMOS sensor, it offers much-improved high-ISO performance over its predecessor and adds live-view capability. Additionally, the sensor lacks a traditional anti-aliasing filter, giving you maximum image sharpness.
0.79x Crop Factor. Multiply any Pentax 645AF2, 645AF, or 645A lens’s focal length by 0.79 to calculate its 35mm-equivalent focal length.
Improved Imaging Functionality. The SAFOX II TTL 27-Point autofocus system provides faster, more accurate autofocusing with better low-light performance than the 645D, while the Prime III image processor handles even the largest files efficiently for nimble 3.0 fps continuous shooting.
High-Quality Build. Like the former, the 645Z features a rigid aluminum die-cast chassis covered in magnesium alloy for a heavy-duty, yet lightweight body and is fully weather sealed/coldproof for shooting in any environment. The large all-glass, trapezoid pentaprism viewfinder offers a 98% FOV viewing angle for accurate framing applications. The 645Z boasts an improved 3.2" 1,037k-dot tilting LCD that you can use for both live-view composition and image review.
Other Notable Features. The dual SDHC/XC memory card slots are back for recording images (8-bit JPEG or 14-bit RAW-Pentax PEF or Adobe DNG), and the new CMOS sensor also gives the 645Z Full HD video recording capability at 24p/30p/60i in the H.264 format. A built-in intervalometer is programmable for up to 2,000 images with in-camera 4K output in .AVI, and in-camera HDR processing saves time sitting in front of a computer. On that note, the 645Z uses USB 3.0 for faster computer transfer and Eye-Fi/FluCard support for wireless transfer.
