Super Telephoto Zoom. The Tamron 150-600mm G2 covers a far-reaching tele to super-tele zoom range, making this lens super appealing to sports and wildlife photographers. When paired with an APS-C camera, the range jumps up to an equivalent of a 225-900mm full-frame field of view.
Flex Lock. The FLEX ZOOM LOCK allows you to hold the zoom in any position in order to prevent unwanted zoom slippage during use. It works by pushing the zoom ring up or down the barrel. it clicks into position, and when engaged, displays a white ring around the barrel. There’s also a traditional zoom lock, which keeps the lens locked at 150mm to stop barrel extension on the go.
Ultrasonic Silent Drive Autofocus Motor. Tamron’s USD autofocus motor offers fast, nearly silent operation with full-time manual focus, giving you the freedom to make small adjustments as you shoot.
Vibration Compensation. Vibration compensation is rated up to 4.5 stops. There are three separate stabilization modes, each of which is suited for a different shooting scenario. Mode 1 is for general purpose, Mode 2 is for situations that call for panning, and Mode 3 only engages stabilization on capture, but not in standby.
Optics. The 150-600mm features a new optical formula that consists of 21 elements in 13 groups, including 3 low-dispersion elements that minimize color fringing and aberrations throughout the entire range, even at longer focal lengths. The BBAR, eBAND, and fluorine coatings reduce ghosting and flare.
TAP-in Compatible. The 150-600m G2 is compatible with the Tamron TAP-in Console for fine-tuning focus.
