Hybrid autofocus system
Designed for Streamers and Influencers. The Nikon Z30 is a compact, powerful video and still camera designed from the ground up to suit the needs of streamers, influencers, vloggers, and other content creators. Its compact build incorporates a 3.0-inch 1.04m-dot free-angle touchscreen LCD that can face forward for the perfect selfie angle, and that can close inward for protection from fingerprints, scratches, and debris. When the touchscreen is facing forward, you get selfie-style controls that let you change focus position and exposure, and set the self-timer. A red tally lamp up front lets you know when the camera’s recording, and e-VR Image Stabilization reduces unwanted camera shake in your hand-held videos.
Audio Options. Nikon prioritized audio recording with the Z30, including a top stereo mic with optional wind muff, and a 3.5mm jack in case you want to use your own external mic. Please note that this camera doesn’t have a headphone jack, so you can’t monitor your audio as you’re recording it.
4K Streaming and Capture. The DX-format 20.9MP CMOS sensor enables the Z30 to capture crisp, high-res UHD 4K 30p video in addition to Full HD 120p for slow-motion playback. You get continuous recording for up to 2 hours 15 minutes, and you can live stream at up to Full HD 60p or 4K 30p. For long continuous takes, live streams, and other situations in which you need constant power, you can power the Z 30 via its USB Type-C port. The Z 30 is compatible with a broad range of web-conferencing apps, so it’s easy to use as a high-quality webcam.
High-Quality Stills. The Z30’s large DX-format sensor isn’t just for video; it produces ultra-clear low-noise photos, even in low light, making it great for production stills, high-res thumbnails and promotional images. An 11 fps top continuous shooting speed lets you capture fast-moving action, there’s an in-camera time-lapse option, and you can use a host of built-in presets and filters to refine your photos and videos straight from the camera.
Hybrid Autofocus System. This camera’s hybrid autofocus system uses phase-detection and contrast-detection AF points to quickly and accurately acquire focus, making it great for stills and video. Eye-Detection AF, which uses facial recognition to focus on a familiar subject’s eyes, is available for both stills and video.
Additional Features. The Z30 uses Nikon’s SnapBridge mobile app to transfer images from the camera to a phone or tablet, or to remotely control the camera. The included EN-EL25 battery gives you up to 330 shots per charge, and a single memory-card slot supports SD/SDHC/SDXC card speeds up to UHS-I. The camera’s design is intuitive—a “?” button gives you a clear explanation of every camera setting, a dedicated auto mode lets the camera automatically optimize shooting settings, and a customizable “i” menu gives you fast access to your preferred settings.
