The Sigma Cine 50-100mm T2 is a rehoused cinema lens designed for APS-C / Super35 cameras with the Canon EF-mount. Key features include:
Full Metal Housing
Short Telephoto Zoom
High Quality Optics
Canon EF-mount for APS-C / Super35
Canon EF-Mount. We carry this lens in multiple lens mounts. This is the version designed specifically for Canon cropped sensor DSLRs and Super35 cinema cameras.
Cine Style. The Sigma Cine 50-100mm T2 (Canon EF) is a full re-housing of the Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art for Canon. That means all of the great functions of that lens carry over, while adding full manual, geared control over focus, zoom, and iris, as well as a standard barrel size and robust metal construction.
That Build Quality Though. A factor so strong, we thought it deserved a second bullet point. Each ring on this lens is sealed, making it both splash-proof and dust-proof. Its markings are laser engraved and a luminous paint job helps you work in the dark
Fast T2 Zoom. The Sigma 50-100mm bests the majority of cinema style zooms by a full stop. This enables stellar low-light shooting while providing full-frame style depth of field on a super35mm sized sensor.
High Quality Optics. The optics of the stills version carry over, meaning you have an optical formula that includes a complex optical design that boasts 21 elements in 15 groups. Included are three “F” Low-Dispersion elements, as well as one Special Low-Dispersion element, and one high-refractive, high-dispersion element. This combination delivers strong contrast and clarity while minimizing aberrations and color fringing.
Telephoto Zoom. With a 35mm-equivalent focal length of 75mm-150mm, you get coverage across a short to intermediate telephoto range.

The Sigma Cine 50-100mm T2 is a re-housed version of their popular zoom lens for still photography, Sigma’s 50-100mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art. The two are optically identical, so why would someone pay 5 times as much for this one? There are actually several good reasons for choosing this lens over the still photography version, it is just not an objectively better choice.
Its housing is larger, with built-in gears, and accurate focus/zoom/iris markings for camera assistants. It is also more rigid, almost entirely constructed of metal. This means the lens should hold up a little better to abuse, staying optically accurate for longer periods of time without requiring maintenance; however, using that much metal also adds a lot of weight, making this version twice as heavy as the original stills lens.
If none of that sounds very helpful to your shoot, then you will probably be happier just sticking with the still photography version. If you already know you need the advantages this version offers, then you probably won’t even read this far anyway. Happy shooting!
