The CBK-FS7BK Build-Up Kit adapts Sony’s ground-breaking PXW-FS7 and PXW-FS7M2 camcorders for shoulder-style shooting typical in ENG (Electronic News Gathering) applications such as interviews and documentaries. Key features include:
Extension unit enables wireless audio & advanced networking capability
Shoulder Mount with rods provides improved balance and ergonomics
Compact viewfinder included
Expandable to support B4 lenses with optional mount adapter
Advanced Extension Unit. The CBK-FS7BK Build-Up Kit includes an advanced version of Sony’s extension unit that adds wireless audio compatibility, advanced network functionality, and RAW capability to the Sony PXW-FS7 and PXW-FS7M2. The unit has a wireless audio receiver slot that’s compatible with select DWR and URX series receivers and two USB modem ports for connecting to wireless LAN or cellular networks. Audio controls are relocated to a more operator friendly location.
Sliding Shoulder Mount. This build up kit adds a shoulder pad with a much more adjustable range than the rubber pad on the base FS7. This helps balance larger ENG focused camera rigs. It has a rosette for attaching the FS7 grip and also adds 15mm rod compatibility and a pair of 7-inch rods for lens support and accessories. The bottom features two 3/8-16 threaded holds for more secure tripod plate attachment.
Additional I/O & V-Mount Power. Expanded input and output capability includes genlock and timecode as well as RAW video output up to 240fps. A V-Mount battery connector adds compatibility with Sony BP-GL and BP-FL series batteries as well as third party V-Mount batteries. This rental doesn’t include a power source, but we offer them as separate rental items under Recommended on the left-hand side of this page.
Optional B4 Lens Mount Adaptor. An optional LA-EB1 Mount Adaptor (not included) is available and allows the attachment of B4 lenses to the FS7 and FS7M2. This enables shooting at high zoom ratios with a deep depth of field as typically required for news production.
Standard ENG Viewfinder. The viewfinder has a standard electronic news gathering design and features like on-screen focus and exposure tools.
