Full-Frame E-mount. As a part of the FE line of lenses, the FE 70-200mm f/4 GM is designed to cover the full-frame sensors on Sony E-mount cameras. Since it’s an E-mount lens, it’s also fully compatible with APS-C NEX cameras.

Telephoto Zoom. When used on a full-frame camera, the FE 70-200mm is an ideal choice for sports and action photography. Using an APS-C sensor camera? You’ll have a focal length equivalent to 105-300mm. The constant f/4 aperture is plenty fast for shooting in decent light, but may prove to be a tad slow for low-light shooting.

Internal Zoom and Focusing. The lens remains the same size while it’s focusing. The non-rotating front element allows you to use polarizing filters with this lens. The Dual Linear Motor autofocus system provides fast, silent autofocus performance with physical focus hold and limiter options for fine tuning.

Optical Image Stabilization. The in-lens stabilizer allows you to shoot at lower shutter speeds without having to worry about camera shake. You can choose between two image-stabilization options: general image stabilization, which is suited to most types of shooting, and a higher setting specifically intended for use with panning movements.

Advanced Optics. The FE 70-200mm uses two extra-low dispersion elements and three aspherical elements for minimizing chromatic aberrations and distortion throughout the zoom range, and for producing high-clarity images. The rounded 9-blade aperture diaphragm produces smooth out-of-focus highlights, and the Nano AR coatings keep flare and ghosting at bay.

High Build Quality. Like the Sony a7-series cameras, the FE 70-200mm offers dust- and moisture-resistant sealing for use in less-than-ideal conditions. The all-metal barrel and smooth, responsive zoom and manual-focus rings are exactly what you’d expect from a high-grade telephoto lens, and the included removable tripod ring makes long periods of shooting much more bearable.
