The Sony PMW-F55 CineAlta 4K is a pro-grade digital cinema camera that can capture 4K video natively to SxS Pro+ memory cards. We also carry the more feature-rich Sony VENICE 6K. Key features include:

8.9MP Super 35mm CMOS Sensor. The Sony PMW-F55 CineAlta 4K’s large sensor allows you to capture stunning shallow depth-of-field imagery with exceptional low-light performance. With its effective 8.9MP resolution, the F55’s 4K CMOS sensor captures a true 4K 4,096 × 2,160 DCI-standard cinema image. The fourteen-stop dynamic range approaches that of traditional motion-picture film, while the advanced color-filter array technology provides a breadth of color that exceeds film.

Internal 4K2K/HD Recording. Using Sony SxS PRO+ memory cards (not included), the F5 records 8-bit MPEG-2 HD422 at 50 Mbps, 10-bit XAVC 2K/HD at 100 Mbps, SR Codec 10-bit MPEG4 SStP at 220/440/880 Mbps, and XAVC 4K/QFHD at 300 Mbps. You can choose from a range of different interlace and progressive frame rates. Additionally, you can record 4K and 2K resolution video in 16-bit RAW when using the Sony AXS-R5 Recorder Kit.

Modular Design. The F55’s concise design allows you to decide which components you need for your shoot. The included DVF-EL100 OLED Viewfinder provides a high resolution, 0.7" display with 1,280 × 720 native resolution. While the F55 has a native Sony FZ mount, the included PL-mount adapter allows you to use any PL-mount lens. Furthermore, adapters are available for using Nikon lenses.
