Exmor RS CMOS Sensor. The PXW-Z150 gets alphabetical with an 8.3 MP Exmor RS CMOS sensor. The R represents its rear-illuminated sensor. The S refers to its buffer design, meaning much faster processing speeds. The 1.0" sensor offers a shallower depth of field than 1/3" or smaller sensors.
12x Optical Zoom. The Z150 comes equipped with a Sony G-Series lens that provides a 29mm to 348mm (35mm equivalent) zoom range that you can double to 24x with Clear Image Zoom and then double again with the Digital Extender, resulting in a 48x zoom.
Recording Range. The PXW-Z150 features a menagerie of resolutions, frame rates, and codecs. It records UHD 4K in XAVC Long GOP in a choice of 100 Mbps or 60 Mbps at 29.97, 25, and 23.98 fps. At HD resolutions, the camera records at standard frame rates up to 59.94p, but also uses Sony’s S&Q Motion for overcrank/undercrank recording at 1, 2, 4, 8, 15, 30, and 60 fps.
