The Voigtlander 15mm f/4.5 Super-Wide Heliar III for Sony E is an ultra-wide angle lens made for Sony E-mount cameras. Key features include:
Ultra-wide 110° angle of view
Improved optical formula for high-quality images
Manual-focus design for precision adjustments
Durable metal build
Similar But Different. Yes, this lens is very largely based on the existing Voigtlander 15mm f/4.5 Heliar III for Leica M; however, the inclusion of electronic contacts on the lens mount make it a whole new ballgame. This enables full use of camera functions, including focus magnification, image stabilization, and lens corrections.
Ultra-Wide Angle. The 110° angle of view and full-frame sensor support make this lens an ideal choice for large, sweeping landscapes; astrophotography; and some architectural photography, if you don’t mind correcting distortion in post.
High-Quality Optics. The updated nine-group/eleven-element design incorporates one rear aspherical element to combat chromatic aberration and distortion, and to vastly reduce color fringing. The Heliar III corrects its predecessor’s magenta fringing on the edges of images.
Build. This lens has a durable metal build. It features a built-in lens hood for reducing flare, a rounded 10-blade aperture, and 58mm filter threads. This lens transfers EXIF data to the camera.
