Choose Your Mic. The versatile TASCAM CA-XLR2d-AN XLR Microphone Adapter (3.5mm Analog) lets you choose the right mic or input for your application. You can use a single shotgun mic to capture dialogue or interview replies, use dual dynamic mics or condensers for stereo imaging, use the adapter’s line-level capability to capture the entire audio mix from the master mixer, or use any number of other recording configurations.
HDDA Mic Preamp. The CA-XLR2d-AN has a high-definition, discrete-architecture mic preamp that’s well-suited to capturing a wide range of sounds in a wide range of sets and environments. From room tone to speech to explosions, this preamp can handle it. Each input on the adapter supports mic/line-level switching and a +48V phantom-power supply. This adapter accepts input from dynamic mics, condenser mics, and line-level audio signals from a mixer.
Mounting, Input, and Output Options. A cold shoe on the adapter’s top panel expands its flexibility, while a noise- and vibration-resistant shock-mount lets you connect a wide range of mics. Two combination XLR/1/4” inputs and one 3.5mm stereo mini mic input all but guarantee that the CA-XLR2d-AN can handle any mic you throw at it. Finally, a 3.5mm output with headphone mode lets you monitor with zero latency or connect an analog camera.
Intuitive, Built-In Processing. This adapter includes easy-to-use internal processing options, including Auto Level, a Low-Cut Filter, and a Limiter. A 1+2 LINK function lets you simultaneously adjust left and right volume levels when you’re recording in stereo, and the adapter supports 16-/24-bit rates and 48/96 kHz sampling rates.
Analog Ready. The CA-XLR2d-AN attaches to your camera’s shoe mount and connects to your camera’s external audio input via an included 3.5mm cable. It uses the included 2x AA battery box (batteries are available as separate rental items) to supply power to the preamp and 48V phantom power to condenser mics.
