The Tokina Cinema Vista One 35mm T1.5 (Sony E) is a fast, E-mount cine prime compatible with cameras using up to full-frame sensors. It’s a modification of the original Cinema Vista lens that produces a unique, controllable flare. Key features include:
Unique off-axis blue flare effect; fast T1.5 aperture
Full-frame sensor coverage, up to 8K resolution
Standardized focus and iris ring positions
Minimal focus breathing
Unique, Controllable Flare Effect. The Tokina Cinema Vista One 50mm T1.5 is part of the new Tokina Cinema Vista One series. These lenses are modifications of the original Cinema Vista series with a proprietary coating on the front element that produces a unique, highly controllable flare effect. This off-axis flare has a highly pronounced blue color at wider apertures, with some secondary and tertiary green flares that will look familiar to anyone who’s shot with the original Cinema Vista lenses. You can render the green color white in post, leaving behind only the strong blue flares.
Fast VistaVision Coverage. The Cinema Vista One series offers full-frame coverage, giving you a compact and lightweight lineup of cine lenses. They’re capable of delivering up to 8K resolution, and their fast T1.5 apertures give you depth-of-field control and low-light shooting flexibility.
Nine-Blade Aperture. A clickless nine-bladed iris gives exceptional round bokeh in out-of-focus areas. Such luxurious bokeh gives you a dreamy look when shooting wide open.
Standardized Features. All the lenses in Tokina’s Cinema Vista One series have the same front lens diameters, focus ring, and iris ring positions. This allows for super-fast lens changes just by swinging your matte box and dropping your follow focus without moving their positions. Markings in feet appear on both sides making it easy for ACs and focus-pullers to do their jobs. The entire Cinema Vista One line boasts the same standard 0.8 pitch gears, 114mm front diameters, and 300° of focus rotation.
Minimal Focus Breathing. Tokina has gone to great lengths with the Cinema Vista One line to avoid “breathing.” We wish all cinema lenses would hold their breath as well as these Tokinas.
