L Mount. The Venus Optics Laowa 24mm T14 2x PeriProbe for L-Mount is a wide-angle close-up lens designed for use on L-mount cameras. You can also use it on APS-C cameras, on which it’ll give you a 36mm-equivalent focal length.
Interchangeable Lens Tubes. This lens includes two interchangeable lens tubes that make it more versatile than the standard Venus Laowa probe lens. The direct-view tube functions like a typical probe lens, giving you a straight-on 0° view, while the periscope tube offers the 90° view that its name brings to mind. Between these two lens tubes, this lens’s unique build, and the ability to unlock the 360° orientation ring to get on-axis spinning shots, you won’t be wanting for creative shooting options.
Maximum Maneuverability. The Venus 24mm PeriProbe was designed for maneuverability and reach. Its barrel is long and narrow enough to move through tight spaces and lightweight enough to easily and comfortably be positioned at any angle you choose. It’s also waterproof, so you can get underwater shots without worry.
Wide-Angle Macro Lens. The Venus Optics Laowa 24mm PeriProbe’s unique design gives you a larger-than-life 2:1 maximum magnification, a 1.5-foot minimum focusing distance, and a 0.8-inch working distance. As a wide-angle lens, it gives you greater depth of field than standard telephoto macros. This means you get less subject isolation and more background detail.
Virtually Distortion-Free. This lens’s rectilinear 19-group/28-element optical design keeps distortion at an absolute minimum while helping to eliminate chromatic aberrations, distortions, and color fringing. Additionally, there’s a built-in LED ring light at the front of the lens, which will help you focus at close distances.
Fully Manual Lens. This is a fully manual lens that provides no electronic communication with the camera. You must manually make all aperture and focus adjustments on the lens itself, and lens information is not transferred through EXIF data. A dedicated switch lets you quickly de-click the manual aperture ring for smooth, quiet rotation that’s great for video.
