2.5:1 to 5:1 Macro Range. The Venus Optics Laowa 25mm f/2.8 2.5-5X Ultra Macro boasts a 2.5:1 to 5:1 macro range that lets you produce imagery that’s greater than life-size. At the 5:1 magnification, you get a 6.8-inch minimum focusing distance and a comfortable 1.6-inch working distance, which gives you plenty of room to illuminate your subject. At the 2:5.1 position, you get a 9.2-inch minimum focusing distance and a 1.8-inch working distance. The wide-angle focal length gives you greater depth of field compared to macros with long focal lengths. Using a DX-format camera? You’ll get a 37.5mm equivalent focal length.
High-Quality Optics. The Laowa 25mm’s six-group/eight-element design includes an extra-low dispersion element that helps produce images with a focus on image clarity and color rendering while reducing chromatic aberrations and color fringing.
