Manual-focus design
Über Wide. The Voigtlander 10mm f/5.6 is wide. It’s really, really wide. On a full-frame camera, it provides a 130° diagonal angle of view, and on a crop sensor it’s around 110°. Its rectilinear (non-fisheye) design cuts down on distortion and makes it a great choice for landscape and architecture photography.
High-Quality Optics. A revised version of the Heliar optical design puts thirteen elements in ten groups with one aspherical element. That means the 10mm has an excellent handle on color fringing, vignetting, and distortion. A ten-blade aperture provides some creamy bokeh.
Manual Focus and Aperture. The 10mm offers an aperture ring featuring 1/3-stop clicks throughout the f/5.6-22 range, as well as the ability to mechanically switch to clickless operation. There’s no autofocus, but there is a smooth manual focus ring that brings focus all the way down to 11.8 inches. This lens does have electronic contacts that transfer all EXIF data to the camera.
