The Voigtlander 15mm f/4.5 Heliar III for Leica M is an ultra-wide angle lens that’s made for Leica M-mount cameras but optimized for full-frame mirrorless cameras. Key features include:
Ultra-wide 110° angle of view
Improved optical formula for high-quality images
Manual-focus design for precision adjustments
Durable metal build
Update. The Voigtlander 15mm f/4.5 Heliar III is the followup to the popular Voigtlander 15mm f/4.5 Heliar II. It features a new optical formula that improves performance with M-mount cameras, and Voigtlander also placed an emphasis on vastly improving performance on mirrorless cameras via adapter.
Ultra-Wide Angle. The 110° angle of view and full-frame sensor support make this lens an ideal choice for large, sweeping landscapes; astrophotography; and some architectural photography, if you don’t mind correcting distortion in post.
High-Quality Optics. The updated nine-group/eleven-element design incorporates one rear aspherical element to combat chromatic aberration and distortion, and to vastly reduce color fringing. The Heliar III corrects its predecessor’s magenta fringing on the edges of images.
Build. This lens has a durable metal build. It features a built-in lens hood for reducing flare, a rounded 10-blade aperture, and 58mm filter threads. Since there are no electronics in the lens, EXIF data isn’t transmitted to the camera.
