The Zeiss Milvus ZF.2 85mm f/1.4 is a professional-caliber, fast-aperture prime lens designed for Nikon F-mount cameras. It’s an update to the popular Zeiss ZF.2 85mm f/1.4 for Nikon. Key features include:
Excellent low-light performance; shallow depth of field
Advanced optics for high-quality images
Smooth, fully manual focusing with a 275° throw
Durable, weather-resistant build
Fast Aperture/Portrait. The 85mm focal length offers a slight tele lens perfect for portraits and still life work. The f/1.4 aperture provides stellar low-light performance with incredibly shallow depth-of-field. On APS-C models, the Zeiss Milvus ZF.2 85mm f/1.4 for Nikon will provide a 127.5mm-equivalent focal length.
Advanced Optics. Don’t be mistaken; this is an entirely different optical formula from the old ZE 85mm f/1.4 Planar. It approaches the performance of the Zeiss ZF.2 85mm f/1.4 Otus APO Planar for Nikon. Seven (!) anomalous partial-dispersion glass elements within a floating-elements system combat distortions and aberrations, all while retaining sharpness and clarity at any aperture or focus distance. The enhanced T* anti-reflective coating controls ghosting and flare for a color-neutral image that still flaunts that famous high micro-contrast “Zeiss look.”
High-Quality Build. The ZF.2 85mm Milvus features a weather-resistant construction with internal seals to guard against dust and moisture, while a blue sealing ring at the lens mount protects the lens-camera interface. The all-metal lens barrel has a frosted, anodized surface for increased durability.
Modern Manual Focus. This fully manual-focus lens features a whopping 275° focus throw and a rubberized focus ring for improved tactile control, while still providing electrical communication with the camera to control aperture and communicate EXIF data.
Click On, Click Off. The 85mm Milvus ZF.2 line offers an aperture ring that features 1/2-stop clicks throughout the f/1.4-22 range, as well as the ability to mechanically switch to clickless operation.
