Anamorphic Look for Less. With a goal of maintaining portability and affordability, Blazar has expanded creative possibilities with a set of 1.5x full frame primes. With wide compatibility with multiple aspect ratios, including covering up to 3:2 open gate large formats, Blazar Remus lenses are a versatile choice that can be paired with a lot of different kinds of EF-mount cameras – all while being a lot more budget-friendly than most anamorphics.
Critical Characteristics. Remus lenses preserve a lot of the characteristics of 2x anamorphic lenses, including oval bokeh, 3D-like effects, shallow depth of field, and flaring, but the lower factor allows these lenses to be both smaller and lighter.
Suitable for Solo Shooters. The lenses in this set are unified both physically and optically so that swapping out different focal lengths is a breeze. They are equipped with industry-standard 0.8 MOD gearing and the focus rotation is 150-degrees, which makes focusing by hand easier. The 77mm front threading will accommodate affordable and readily-available filters. The outside diameter is 80mm, which is compatible with most pro matte boxes for using high-end drop-in filters. A port for adding lens support is on the barrel of the lens, which is handy for heavier matte box setups.
Widescreen for a Wider Audience. Adding a cinematic and artistic touch to your footage is now more accessible than ever because of brands like Blazar, Vazen, and Sirui challenging the high-end likes of ARRI, Cooke, and Atlas. What sets Blazar apart from its current low-cost competitors is their ample sensor coverage and retro look.
