Canon CR-N500 PTZ 3-Camera and Controller Kit

The Canon CR-N500 PTZ 3-Camera and Controller Kit consists of three CR-N500 PTZ Cameras and a RC-IP100 Joystick Controller. Key features include:

6 programmable buttons; 100 presets per camera
Ultra-responsive joystick, 7” touchscreen control panel

Augment Your Multi-Camera Shoot. The Canon CR-N500 Professional 4K NDI PTZ Camera with 15x Zoom was designed to work alongside high-end cameras on professional productions. It’s remotely controlled, so it’s especially great on productions with small crews.

One-Inch 4K CMOS Sensor and DIGIC DV6 Processor. The one-inch 4K CMOS sensor is capable of capturing UHD 4K video at 30p and Full HD video at up to 60p, making it a great choice for remote, unobtrusive video capture on multi-camera productions. This sensor is larger than what you normally find in PTZ cameras, and it produces beautiful pro-grade images with reduced noise, high clarity, and smooth color rendering, even when you’re shooting in low light. It also gives you pleasing bokeh at large apertures, while the Dual-Pixel Autofocus System keeps your subject sharp. The DIGIC DV6 processor works in tandem with the sensor to produce professional-quality images, easy operability, and fast performance.

Built-In UHD 4K 15x Zoom Lens. The built-in 25.5mm (35mm equivalent) 15x optical zoom lens gives you a wide 73° viewing angle. At its wide end, it lets you capture cinematic wide shots when you’re shooting in confined spaces. Its optical design includes aspherical elements to combat aberrations while producing 4K image quality. This camera features smooth, responsive pan and tilt, with a -170° to +170° panning angle and a -30 to 90° tilt range

Control Up to One Hundred Supported Cameras. The Canon RC-IP100 Touchscreen PTZ Joystick Controller uses Canon’s new XC protocol to give you IP control over 99 supported Canon PTZ cameras including the CR-N500.

Smooth PTZ Movement, Advanced Remote Functionality. The RC-IP100’s ultra-responsive joystick gives you the smooth, accurate PTZ control you need for professional productions. In addition, you can remotely control, adjust, and set the pan, tilt, and zoom functions; register up to one hundred presets per camera; and manage a range of other settings and customizations from trace movement to picture quality. The trace function can store camera movements and then recall them with the push of a button.

Q & A

Is this controller compatible with all PTZ cameras?

No. The RC-IP100 is only compatible with select Canon PTZ cameras including the CR-N500, CR-X500, CR-N300, and CR-X300.

Why is there a warning label next to the DC input on the RC-IP100?

The Canon RC-IP100 uses a 12V power adapter, which is included with this rental, and also flagged with a matching label for your convenience.
Select compatible cameras like the Canon CR-N500 use a 24V power adapter with a similar barrel size, but that power adapter will cause permanent damage to the RC-IP100 if used by mistake.
We understand how quickly things can move during a production and decided to add our own labels to the RC-IP100 controller and power adapter to help you identify the compatible items in a pinch.

How do I access the camera upon initial startup?

Upon initial startup, you must follow these steps:
1. Access the camera via the webUI. The IP address is 192.168.100.1 and the Subnet is 255.255.255.0
2. Assign an account name and password.
3. Reboot the camera to log back in. You’ll be prompted to enter the initial network settings.

You can avoid advanced configuration by saving the prompted network page and using the Canon Camera Search Tool for macOS / Windows.

How do I monitor camera view?

You can monitor camera view via webUI, SDI / HDMI, and compatible third-party software.
This camera uses NDI HX2 protocol, so we recommend making sure all third-party software is up to date.

Does this camera support microSD recording?

No, this camera doesn’t support microSD recording.

I lost the IP address or login information. What can I do?

If you lost the IP address or login information, follow these steps:
1. Press and hold the Reset button on the back of the camera.
2. Power on the camera.
3. Wait for the front LED to blink.
4. Release the Reset button.
5. Wait ~4 minutes for the camera to complete its boot-up sequence.
