Does this grip provide any additional battery / power functionality?

No, this grip has no electronic functionality and has no effect whatsoever on battery performance.
Just as a follow-up, it also does not add any additional buttons or dials for vertical shooting. It is just an extension grip to make the compact camera more comfortable to hold.

Will I be able to remove the grip from the camera?

You will, but we don’t send the battery door for the EOS RP with it. If you need us to send out the battery door, please request it in the Special instruction section during checkout.

Does this grip work with any camera besides the Canon EOS RP?

No, the Canon EG-E1 Extension Grip is only compatible with the Canon EOS RP Mirrorless.
