Canon RF Mount. The Canon RF 100-400mm f/5.6-8 IS USM belongs to Canon’s line of RF-mount lenses. It’s compatible with Canon RF-mount cameras but does not work with Canon EF-mount cameras.

Versatile Zoom Range. This lens’s telephoto focal range makes it perfect for sports, wildlife, and travel photography. The f/5.6-8 aperture range isn’t great for low-light shooting, so you’ll probably want to stick with outdoor lighting conditions for best results.

Optical Image Stabilization. The built-in optical image stabilization system provides up to 5.5 stops of correction, allowing you to shoot in lower light and at lower shutter speeds without worry. When you use this lens with a camera that has an in-body image stabilizer, you get up to six stops of correction.

Nano USM Autofocus. This Nano USM autofocus system uses both a ring-type USM and an STM mechanism to ensure fast, accurate, and nearly silent autofocus performance. You also get full-time manual focusing when you’re working in one-shot AF mode.

Advanced Optical Design. This lens’s nine-group/twelve-element optical design includes one Ultra-Low Dispersion element and one aspherical element which combine to reduce aberrations, color fringing, and distortion for maximum clarity, color accuracy, sharpness, and rendering.
