The Canon RF 135mm f/1.8 L IS USM is a versatile, ultra-fast medium-telephoto prime for full-frame Canon RF-mount cameras. Key features include:
Versatile, fast medium-telephoto prime
Excellent for portraiture and fashion photography
Up to eight stops of image stabilization
Fast, accurate, and silent autofocus
Canon RF Mount. The Canon RF 135mm f/1.8 L IS USM belongs to Canon’s line of RF-mount lenses. It’s compatible with RF-mount cameras, but it doesn’t work with Canon EF-mount cameras.
Versatile Medium-Telephoto Prime. This lens’s medium-telephoto focal length makes it perfect for portrait, fashion, indoor-sports, and video applications. Its ultra-fast f/1.8 maximum aperture gives you extensive depth-of-field control and lets you work in low-light conditions.
Advanced Optical Design. This lens’s twelve-group/seventeen-element optical formula includes three Ultra Low-Dispersion elements to minimize chromatic aberrations and color fringing while providing high clarity, color fidelity, and sharpness. Canon has applied Air Sphere and Super Spectra coatings to each lens element to further combat ghosting and flare, even in harsh light.
Fast, Ultra-Precise Autofocus. The Nano Ultrasonic Motor (USM) autofocus system uses a ring-type USM mechanism to provide fast, accurate, and nearly silent autofocus performance for both still and video shooters. You also get an AF/MF switch for full-time manual-focus override.
Optical Image Stabilization. The 135mm f/1.8 L’s built-in image stabilizer compensates for 5.5 stops of camera shake so that you can shoot hand-held, in lower light, and at slower shutter speeds without worry. When you pair this lens with newer EOS R bodies that themselves feature five-axis in-body image stabilization, you get up to eight stops of shake correction.
Additional Features. A customizable control ring lets you adjust a range of exposure settings, including aperture, ISO, flash control, and white balance. A circular nine-blade aperture helps produce smooth, pleasing bokeh while keeping your subject sharp. A weather-sealed build keeps you shooting in inclement conditions, and a fluorine coating on the front lens element protects against moisture, fingerprints, and debris.
