Automated Process. Once you have the variables dialed in, the StackShot 3X Controller will automatically adjust the focus rail position in your set increments and trigger the camera’s shutter. What you’ll end up with is a number of images with slightly different focus points that can be combined in the software program of your choice (not included).

Key Points to Remember. While the camera’s physical movement and triggering are automated, its settings aren’t. You’ll need to fine-tune the StackShot settings and the camera’s settings. We strongly suggest using full manual-exposure control, white balance, and focus, as even the smallest change can throw off the final stacked image. If you’re using flash, you’ll want to manually set output as well.
