The DJI Ronin 4D Flex is an extension unit designed to expand your gimbal filming possibilities by allowing you to detach the camera from the gimbal body, creating a handheld filming experience. Key features include:
Flex Your Production Muscles. The DJI Ronin 4D Flex attaches fairly easily from the X9 camera included with both the 6K and 8K Ronin 4D, but flexing those muscles won’t really be necessary, since this attachment unit reduces your handheld operation weight to a mere 4 pounds. This device attaches to the camera, once separated from the gimbal, to the 4D gimbal using the included 6.6 foot cable, which is also used to communicate remote instruction from the Ronin 4D to the Zenmuse camera.
Attachments and Mounting. This rental includes two handgrip mount adapters and USB-C adapter cables, which support native integration of the Ronin 4D’s handgrips. To attach the main monitor to the Flex unit, a cold shoe mount and display port are offered. To mount this unit to an extension rod or jib arm, there are 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads located at the bottom of the Flex head.
Remote Head. Like we mentioned above, the integrated 6.6 foot cable not only produces 8K video from the gimbal to the camera, but also acts as a remote head. The Flex unit helps you achieve dynamic pan, tilt, and tracking shots remotely, which is especially helpful in tighter environments.
