DJI Ronin-S 3-Axis Gimbal Stabilizer

The DJI Ronin-S 3-Axis Gimbal Stabilizer is a compact, single-grip gimbal designed to work with popular DSLR and mirrorless cameras up to 7.9 pounds. Key features include:

Designed For DSLR & Mirrorless Cameras. The DJI Ronin-S 3-Axis Gimbal Stabilizer is a lightweight and compact gimbal that DJI has designed for single-handed stabilization of DSLR and mirrorless cameras. The gimbal is capable of supporting up to 7.9 pounds of equipment for a wide range of camera and lens compatibility. Please note, not all camera control cables are included with this kit.

Offset Roll Motor. A new DJI offset gimbal design keeps the roll motor positioned below a camera’s integrated monitor and helps reduce weight by eliminating the necessity for external monitoring. The design also improves stabilization when swapping between upright and underslung modes.

Great Battery Life. The Ronin-S can stabilize a camera for up to 12 hours with a single charge of its built-in battery, and charging a battery to full capacity will require approximately two and a half hours. Keep in mind that battery life will vary based on the weight and balance of the attached camera and lens.

Accessory Support. The Ronin-S has dual 4-pin CAN Bus connectors on the camera platform and two 8-pin near the control panel for connecting and powering compatible accessories for focus control, audio capture, and monitoring. 1/4-20 threaded sockets around the grip provide multiple options for attaching these accessories. The camera platform itself uses a quick release plate to enable simplified balancing, setup and breakdown.

Removable Grip. The gimbal’s grip can be removed to open up the device to new mounting options. This opens the Ronin-S to the option of becoming a jib-mounted, remote controlled pan and tilt head or to simply attach alternative control accessories such as optional two-handed grips. Do note that this requires yet-to-be-released accessory cables / mounts that are not included with the rental.

What do I need to know about Ronin-S battery life and charging?

You’ll get up to 12 hours of battery life from one charge, and the battery will take approximately two and a half hours to charge.
If you need additional batteries and chargers, we offer the DJI Ronin-S BG37 Battery Grip and DJI Ronin-S Battery Adapter as separate rental items.

Does this rental include the DJI Ronin-S Multi-Camera Control Cable for Mini-USB?

This rental doesn’t include the DJI Ronin-S Multi-Camera Control Cable – Mini-USB, but it’s available as a separate rental item.

Do you offer any kits that include this gimbal?

Yep! We offer the DJI Ronin-S 3-Axis Gimbal Stabilizer Premium Kit. It includes the stabilizer, a BG37 battery grip, a battery adapter, the focus motor, and the command unit.

Can I balance a BMPCC 4K/6K on this gimbal?

With the right combination of camera and lens, the included riser will technically allow you to balance the BMPCC4K but we wouldn’t call it an elegant solution. To properly accommodate the width of the camera, we recommend renting the LanParte Ronin-S Offset Plate for BMPCC4K and BMPCC6K.
Please note, this gimbal does not offer any camera controls for the BMPCC. If you have any questions regarding compatibility, contact us and a video tech will be happy to help you determine the best gimbal solution for your shoot.

Do you include a lens support bracket?

Yes! A support bracket and support bracket screw are included with this rental.

What is the maximum supported weight?

The Ronin-S can support camera & lens combos up to 7.9 pounds, but keep in mind that just because your gear is under weight does not mean it will balance well. If you have questions about specific cameras and lenses, please contact us.

Does this come with the Sony Camera Control cable for a7-series cameras?

The DJI Ronin-S Multi-Camera Control Cable for Sony Multi-USB is not included, but is available as a separate rental item.
