Is this a professional-grade lens?

While this lens doesn’t offer the same level of performance as its higher-end competitors, its durable construction and affordable price point make it a great choice for people looking to assemble a quality cine setup on a budget.

Should I use additional support with this lens?

We recommend using a rail support system and lens support. We have provided links to our universal baseplates in the “recommended” column, however, we also carry camera specific kits. Those can be found in the “recommended” column of camcorder pages. When in doubt, please contact us.

Is this lens compatible with PL-mount optical extenders?

No. This lens’s mount baffle extends too far to be compatible with most PL-mount adapters that feature optical elements.
In our testing this lens will not work with the Atlas 1.6x LF Extender, IB/E Optics PLx2 Optical Extender 2x, or the IB/E Optics PLx1.4 Mark II Optical Extender 1.4×. If you have specific compatibility concerns, please contact us.
