Blackmagic Compatibility. While this adapter appears to be the same as the Metabones Canon EF to Micro 4/3 Speedbooster T XL, it’s only compatible with Blackmagic cameras and has been specifically designed around the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K. Otherwise it retains its 0.64x focal-length increase, its 1 1/3-stop maximum-aperture increase, and its autofocus support on a wide variety of Canon EF-mount lenses.

Lens Compatibility. This adapter allows complete control over most EF-mount full-frame lenses from both Canon and third parties. Smooth Iris is supported with the latest Canon (2009+), Tamron (SP series 2013+) and Sigma (2016+) lens models as well as image stabilization for lenses that have that capability. Wider Focal Length and Increased Aperture. This version of the Speed Booster widens the mounted lens’s focal length by 0.64x, reducing the overall sensor-crop factor from 2.02x to 1.29×. It also increases the mounted lens’s maximum aperture by 1 1/3 stop to a maximum of f/0.8.

Electronic Communication. The adapter’s mount has electric contacts that allow you to use compatible lenses’ autofocus, aperture-control, and image-stabilization functions. This adapter doesn’t require a separate power source for most lenses, and EXIF data is transferred and embedded into your footage.

Sturdy Design with Built-In Tripod Foot. The aluminum-alloy barrel, brass mounts and rubber gaskets give it a solid feel, with an Arca-Swiss compatible tripod foot that lets you mount the adapter itself directly to a tripod. The Arca-Swiss tripod foot has also been tailor made to match the height of the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K. This ensures the lens’s weight doesn’t put additional stress on the camera’s mount.

Designed Specifically for the BMPCC4K. Metabones has designed this product similar to its regular Micro 4/3 counterpart but the optics have been optimized for the filter stack thickness of 2.4mm found on the Blackmagic cameras opposed to the 4mm filter stack on other Micro 4/3 cameras. This adapter has been designed exclusively for Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K and can’t be attached to any other Micro 4/3 cameras from Panasonic or Olympus.
