Nikon Z System. The Nikon Z 50mm f/2.8 Macro was designed specifically for cameras in Nikon’s full-frame Z-mount system. Z-mount lenses only work with Z-mount cameras, and Z-mount cameras are only natively compatible with Z-mount lenses.
Versatile Normal-Length Macro Prime. The 50mm f/2.8 Macro provides a versatile focal length, a 6.3-inch minimum focusing distance, and a true 1:1 macro reproduction ratio, making it perfect for snapshots, food photography, product photography, and a broad range of other uses. The relatively fast f/2.8 aperture offers some shallow depth of field while allowing you to keep shooting even when the lights get dim. While this lens was designed for FX-format cameras, you can also use it with DX-format cameras on which it’ll provide a 75mm equivalent focal length.
Advanced Optics. The 50mm’s seven-group/ten-element optical system incorporates one aspherical element and one extra-low dispersion element to combat chromatic aberrations and coma while maintaining excellent clarity, color accuracy, and edge-to-edge sharpness. A fluorine finish on the front and rear elements helps prevent smudging.
Stepping Motor Autofocus System. This system uses a stepping motor for smooth, nearly silent performance that’s great for stills and video alike. You also get full-time manual focusing for precision adjustments, while the front-focusing design minimizes the lens’s size and weight.
