The Olympus PEN E-PL7 is an entry-level mirrorless Micro 4/3 camera. Key features include:
16MP Sensor. The Olympus PEN E-PL7 features the same 16MP Live MOS sensor and TruePic VII image processor as its sibling, the OM-D E-M10. This enables good ISO performance, 1080p HD video recording at 30 fps, and 8 fps still-image continuous-shooting speed.
FAST Autofocus System. This contrast-detection focus system offers 81 usable AF points across the entire sensor, providing extremely fast and accurate performance.
Three-Axis In-Body VCM Image Stabilization. Provides roughly 3.5 stops of image stabilization to any lens mounted with yaw, pitch, and roll correction.
Three-Inch 180° Flip LCD Touchscreen. The large, 1.04M-dot rear LCD is great for image review and capture. It also flips downward 180º, giving marketing departments a reason to nickname it the “selfie cam.”
Wi-Fi Connected. The free Olympus Image Share iOS and Android app enables wireless camera control and image review/transfer with your mobile device.
Other Notable Features. The EPL7 includes a wide selection art filters and effects, in-camera capture with a live preview, specialty modes like Photo Story and interval shooting for time-lapse, and in-camera RAW editing. The included FL-LM1 accessory flash provides fill flash when needed, but can easily be removed for a more compact setup. The camera is rated for 350 shots per charge, and records images to SDHC/XC memory cards (not included).
