The Pentax HD D FA 150-450mm f/4.5-5.6 DC AW is a superzoom telephoto lens designed for Pentax K-mount DSLRs. Key features include:
Great for long-range daylight photography
High-quality images with great edge-to-edge sharpness
Fast, accurate autofocus will full-time manual focusing
High-quality weather-resistant build
Superzoom. With a focal length equivalent to 225-675mm after crop factor, the Pentax HD D FA 150-450mm f/4.5-5.6 DC AW is ideal for long-range shooting, such as daytime sports, wildlife, and nature photography. The f/4.5-5.6 variable aperture is decent, but you’ll see some focus hunting in low light.
Direct Current Autofocus and Quick-Shift Focus. The DC autofocus motor offers fast, nearly silent performance with the advantage of an internal-focusing design. The Quick-Shift Focus System is a fancy way of saying this lens offers full-time manual focusing for quick adjustment. There are four dedicated autofocus buttons for programming focus presets, and there’s a focus-range limiter for improving focus performance when strictly shooting at a great distance.
High-Quality Optics. Extra-low dispersion glass elements minimize chromatic aberrations throughout the zoom range while maximizing high image clarity with edge-to-edge sharpness. Pentax’s HD coatings reduce reflections and lens flare, and Super Protect coatings on the front and rear elements repel dust, water, and oils.
High-Quality Build. The 150-450mm features 21 distinct seals to shield against the elements. There’s a zoom-lock button for preventing zoom creep and protecting the lens from damage during transport. A removable, rotating tripod ring provides tripod/monopod users a stable mounting point, and the included lens hood helps to eliminate lens flare.
