The RED Mini-Mag Side SSD Module is a proprietary SSD module required for recording to RED Mini-Mag SSDs with RED DSMC brains. Key features include:
Designed For RED Mini-Mags. This smaller, faster memory format is a must for capturing higher frame rates and resolutions with the RED Epic Dragon and Scarlet Dragon. Previous versions of RED Side SSD Modules aren’t compatible with the RED Mini-Mag, so if you’re using this latest memory format you’ll need one of these.
Only Rented For DSMC Brains. All RED DSMC2 brains come standard with a built-in Mini-Mag Side SSD Module. Only rent this if you’re shooting with a previous-generation DSMC brain.
Built For Speed. High-resolution capture is very data-hungry, and it wants data fast. The Mini-Mag format takes everything the RED Dragons can throw at it with less compression than previous RED memory formats.
Controls and Input. This side SSD module features two user-defined keys, a record button, and an input for connecting a RED Touch LCD monitor. The module attaches to the side of the RED brain via four M3 screws.
