The ROLI Songmaker Kit is a unique audio controller that uses a touch sensitive keyboard & tactile control pads to create & manipulate audio for live performance & studio audio production. Key features include:

Expressive Keyboard Control. In the past, an expressive keyboard could change a triggered sample’s attack velocity and release with one or two basic sensors, but the ROLI Songmaker Kit includes the much more sophisticated Seaboard 24 key controller that uses the MPE (MIDI Polyphonic Expression) standard. It gives fine control over strike, glide, slide, press, and lift to greatly expand the capabilities of keyboard expression.

Lightpad & Live Blocks. The kit also comes with the Lightpad block for sample pad control with the added bonus of ROLI’s 5D Touch expression control and the Live block for direct tactile control of playback, volume, octaves, sustain, and more. The blocks can be rearranged into multiple configurations via the magnetic DNA connectors.

Bluetooth & USB. This system connects to a computer or mobile device via Bluetooth or USB. We include both USB A and Type-C cables for broader compatibility. Please note that bluetooth delay will vary based on your connected device. We recommend connecting this device with a cable for best results.

Power. Each block has an internal battery that is recharged via its USB Type-C port and will power the controller for up to 10 hours.

Compatibility. This controller works with softwares that can utilize MIDI input. To make full use of the each block’s 5D Touch, your software must also have MPE (MIDI Polyphonic Expression) support. A full list with some setup guides can be found here.

Software Not Included. This rental does not include any software. You’ll need to purchase or own a DAW (digital audio workstation) or other audio software to use it.
