The Sigma 28-45mm f/1.8 DG DN Art for L-Mount is an ultra-fast, versatile, and lightweight wide-to-normal zoom for L-Mount cameras. It was designed with video production in mind. Key features include:
Ultra-fast wide-to-normal zoom that’s great for video
Advanced optics for sharp, color-accurate images
High-response linear-action autofocus motor
Durable, weather-sealed construction
Video-Focused Design. The Sigma 28-45mm f/1.8 DG DN Art was designed with an eye toward video creators’ needs. Its versatile wide-to-normal focal-length range and ultra-bright f/1.8 aperture make it great for run-and-gun, single-shooter video capture. Its fast aperture also facilitates shooting in low light and offers excellent focus control when using shallow depth-of-field techniques, while the rounded eleven-blade diaphragm helps produce large, pleasing bokeh. The internal-zoom design keeps the lens’s size consistent, making it a snap to balance on a gimbal. Using an APS-C sensor camera? You’ll have a focal-length range equivalent to 42-68mm.
Focus, Focus, Focus. A high-response linear-action motor (HLA) provides fast, highly accurate, nearly silent autofocus operation, while an optimized autofocus algorithm gives you smooth performance. You can use the dedicated AF/MF switch to toggle between autofocus and manual-focus modes on the fly, and you can program the two integrated Autofocus-Lock buttons to adjust additional functions, giving you even more options and capabilities. A dedicated zoom-lock switch keeps the barrel from extending when you don’t want it to. The 11.9-inch minimum focusing distance and 1:4 maximum magnification ratio let you work with close-up subjects in tight spaces.
Advanced Optical Formula. This lens’s fifteen-group/eighteen-element optical design includes three aspherical elements and five Special Low-Dispersion elements to minimize chromatic aberrations, vignetting, and color fringing while facilitating maximum sharpness, color accuracy, and clarity. Super multilayer and nano porous coatings on the lens elements help combat ghosting and produce high-contrast, color-neutral images, even in difficult light.
Strong, Yet Svelte. The Sigma 28-45mm is dust- and moisture-resistant so that you can use it in adverse conditions without worry, and there’s a brass bayonet mount for maximum durability. At 6.0 inches long and 2.1 lb., it’s compact and lightweight enough to take on the go.
