It was for the Solar Eclipse event on April 8th 2024 and of course, the Lens Rentals team was on the ball. As the day of the event approached, I had some questions regarding the Lens hood dimensions.
I need to make a Solar Filter to fit the lens hood but was uncertain of the hood's diameter. I contacted Lens Rentals via email and asked if they could send me the 'true dimension' of the hood's diameter.
Within 24 hours, I received a reply with the specs I needed and was able to make the filter before the lens arrived. That's a small example of the kind of support I've always experienced with the Lens Rentals team.
Lens Rentals is the only store I rent my equipment from and I've even bought some of the equipment that I've rented.
Those who buy the gear they rent will be pleased to know that LR will wave the rental fees and only charge for the purchase. In that way, you not only can put the gear through its paces before you buy it, you can be sure of its condition & functionality w/o any risk and at a great price.
BTW: I was pleasantly surprised when I found that Lens Rentals included a complimentary pair of Solar Glasses with my order!
In fact, as things turned out, I was unable to use the Solar Glasses I had purchased several weeks earlier, (Amazon emailed buyers that they were not approved by the AAS).
So, I didn't have time to order another pair but when I opened the boxes from LR and found that complimentary pair of glasses, I didn't have to worry about trying to find a pair from another source.
Lens Rentals is a very dependable store and you can count on the quality of their equipment and their on-time deliveries! 5-STARS!

ich I now regret).
After closely reviewing my photos it turns out I was dealing with heat distortion... not a lens issue. $300 lesson learned! Next time I'll take air/surface temperature into consideration. Long lens problems. Read Less
